Humility

When a heart is about to break
It rumbles like a piece of
sheet metal being warped to
imitate a roiling thunderhead
about to crack.
It doth protest too much.

But when a heart is finally forced
to separate from itself
It sounds as delicate as
newspaper being torn lengthwise very
slowly
Making the heart's earlier complaints seem
inadequate.
